Working Teamsters = Teamster Organizers

Warehousing…The Future of Organizing

at Teamsters Local 386

In Stanislaus and Merced County the organizing opportunities are limitless. There are literally dozens of Warehouse and Logistic Companies all within the jurisdiction of our Teamsters Local.

Kohl’s, CVS, Savemart, DOT Transportation and Sysco just to name a few; all without a Union to represent their employees. Hundred of potential members.

Why is it so important to working Teamsters to be a part of our organizing team? Because the Best Way to Protect our Working Conditions Is To Make Sure Everyone else Has The Same Working Conditions!!

· Join Teamsters Local 386 Mighty Army of Organizers.

· Help us build Teamsters Local 386 into a Warehouse –Powerhouse!

Organizing new members is one of the top priorities of the new leadership slate. Gaylord & Jeff propose dedicating resources of time and money into building a volunteer army of highly trained rank & file organizers with the goal of adding 750 new members each year. It won’t be easy, but with the right people we know we can get it done.

Volunteer – Help Gaylord & Jeff Build Teamsters Local 386 into the Warehouse Powerhouse we know we can be!

What is a Steward Council? Why should I be a member?

Stewards are the backbone and heart of our Union. The Council is the organization for Stewards to learn new information, keep up to date on the activities of the Union, share member concerns, and work out solutions to workplace problems. It's a great place to build the Union and meet fun people. There are interesting guest speakers, trainings, and camaraderie!

So why not?

The New Leadership Slate is dedicated to making General Teamsters Local 386 a model Teamster Local.

Vote New Leadership Ship Slate.

Be a Steward!

Be a Leader!

Make Good Things Happen!
Special thanks to all the folks that have been helping us with the campaign.

It's not about me and Jeff. It's about doing the right thing for the membership.

As of August 13, 2009, we have 3237 members. That's a lot of families.

The responsibility is awe inspiring.

It takes dedication, integrity and experience to run a Teamster local.

Make sure when you mark your ballot in October...you are voting for the most qualified candidates.

Remember...it's your livelihood...it's not a joke!

Organizing ~ The Lifeblood of the Labor Movement

Using the Teamster Model
Is There any other way?

EVERY MEMBER AND ORGANIZER
It's more than a slogan

No one can organize like a Rank-and-File Teamster!

I've already spoken with several employers who would be agreeable to allowing me to take employees off role for "Volunteer Organizing Drives." (Volunteers would have their wages and benefits paid by the local.)

Organizing ~ The New Leadership Way.
  • Don't rely on "Gimmies from the International".
  • Target units which complement the units we already have.....hint: Gilton Disposal, Turlock Scavenger, FED-EX, Kohls, CVS, SMart Transport and now Grainger....and many many more. Dear I Say......Public Sector......I said it!
  • Don't wait for "Hot Shops" to come to you.
  • Hire the EXPERTS. (Rank & File Teamsters)
You want to see this Local grow....Volunteer....Get Involved!
It can only get better!

VOTE For The New Leadership Slate!
